Apples, Apples, and more Apples!

We have this apple tree in our backyard. We have so many apples I don't know what to do with all of them. We still have a ton in the tree. Only problem....they are so high, we can't get them. Our ladder is definitely tall enough, and Greg can only climb so high before the branches begin to feel like they are going to break. We have picked pretty much what we can, and the pictures below will show you how many we have.

The kids were involved in the whole process. Picking, washing, and even putting them into the juicer. The apple juice is amazing! We don't have to add anything to it. The juice is already sweet, and perfect to drink. The kids really enjoyed themselves. Greg is going to start applesauce, and apple jam tomorrow. I hope all goes well since I will be working.

Movin' On Up!

At the end of August, our lease was up in our apartment. Greg and I were very worried that we wouldn't be able to find a place that would be big enough for our family, while at the same time fall into our budget. We searched and searched, and searched. Finally, I came across this four bedroom house not too far from where we are now. We went and walked through the place, and our kids absolutely loved the place. It has two living rooms, a huge kitchen, 1 1/2 bathrooms, and four bedrooms. The backyard is huge, and there is a walking path behind the house that goes to the park and the pond. The kids were involved in our final decision, and they told us that this is where they wanted to live.

We have been here since the beginning of September. This house has been an amazing blessing for our children, and for our family. We have plenty of room for kids to play, and they are so much happier here too. Preston is excited to finally have his own room again. He is getting to the age where he deserves some privacy. Anaya has her own room except when Aubree comes over. Presley and Aidan share the bedroom upstairs next to Greg and I.

Now a little update:

Greg is still at Nestle, down in Springville. He is a trooper for making that drive to and from work everyday. Greg is an amazing father and wonderful husband. He will go to any lengths for our family. I love him more and more everyday.

I am still going to school. I have just about a year of schooling left. I am finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I know that these last 7 years have been the most stressful, and challenging years for my family. The payoff in the end will definitely be worth it. When I am not in school, I am home with our kids, and absolutely love it. I wouldn't change this opportunity for anything in the world.

Aubree comes to visit once a week, and then every other weekend, and holidays. She is 10 years old, and the best big sister. The younger girls love to play with her, and she is wonderful to play with them. She also loves taking care of Aidan. She is always willing to play with him if Greg and I are busy making dinner, or cleaning. She is such a joy in our family.

Preston turns 9 on Saturday, October 10th. He is so excited for his birthday to come that he asks me everyday how many more days until his birthday. He is in the 3rd grade, and was asked to be apart of the gifted/talented program at school. He meets with other kids in his grade once a week, and they read and think of "thick questions" to ask and discuss with the other kids and teachers in the classroom. Preston is an excellent speller, and loves to read. He will read to his sisters, mainly Presley, for his homework. When his class goes to the library, he will always get a new book, and be halfway finished with the book by the time he gets home from school. I love that he loves to read!!!!! He will also be playing Jr. Jazz basketball starting in November. He is really excited about that.

Anaya....WOW! Oh the stories about Anaya. She is the funniest child. She is always saying things to me, or Greg, or even my parents, that just make us die laughing. Here is the latest....My parents were wonderful to watch my kids and our friends kids while we were moving to our new place. So, my dad took them on a walk. This wasn't no walk around the block. They probably walked at least a mile. And for four kids, that is a long way. They walked over to 1200 N, up to State Street, stopped and got food and frosty's at Wendy's, and then kept walking down through the neighborhood to get back to my parents' house. They stop across the street from the house, and Anaya-whose cheeks are beat red-says to my dad "Whew, that was quick!" That is our little Anaya, the wise girl!

Presley is 2 going on 20! She is my little mother, and will do just about anything for Aidan. If he starts to cry, she will come and tell me. She loves her siblings, and will do anything. One thing about Presley, is that everyone thinks she is a little angel. Believe me, she is WHEN she wants to be! HAHAHAHA! She is a little mischievious, darling, but curious little girl. When she is being quiet, that is when I get nervous. The other day, we were at our friend's house, and I was doing some homework in their computer room. It had probably been 10 minutes or so, and I realize that I can't hear Presley. I call her to come into the room, and she is COVERED in diaper rash cream. She has it all over her hands, in her hair, on her face, and all over her clothes. So I tell her to go wash her hands and I will be right behind her. Needless to say, I walked out of the room, and there was diaper rash cream all over the couch, DVD cupboard, all over the treadmill, and on the floor!!!! I was beside myself! I didn't know what to say, or how to react without going ballistic on her. I reminded myself she is 2 years old, and doesn't really understand what she is doing. So, I had Preston go wash her up, while I took care of the mess. I believe she is my hardest child right now, and that is because of her age. I love her sweet spirit, and the love she gives to everyone around her. Our family would be less without her.

Aidan is 10 months old, and a very happy baby!!!! He is crawling all over the place, AND he is FINALLY sleeping through the night!!!! I love it! I can actually get a good night's sleep and feel rested in the morning. Aidan is also pulling himself up onto everything, and before I know it, he will be walking. He loves to be around the family. If he can't see his brother or sisters, he just starts crying until he is in the same room, and being around them.

Our family is so full of life right now, and I am so grateful for them. They are the greatest blessings in my life, and love them with all my heart. My life would be empty without every one of them!

Life is crazy, Beautiful!!!

Life in the Packer home has been crazy busy! I have been so busy with school, work and being a mom and wife, that this took a backseat to everything. I am still going to school and decided to take summer classes. This is my first summer ever taking classes and I actually love it. By taking summer classes this year and next plus fall and spring, I should be graduating in December 2010.

Here is an update of our family:

Aubree stayed with us for 2 1/2 weeks right after school got out, and we had a blast. Her favorite thing to do is go swimming, so we definitely did a lot of that. Also, she is the best big sister in the whole world. She assists me with the girls and Aidan so that I can get my homework done, or clean the house. She is fabulous!

Preston is also the best big brother! When Aubree isn't around, he steps up to the plate! He got to play baseball and was on the Boston Red Sox. He is an awesome hitter! He is so good, that the coach likes him to bat last so that he can hit everyone home! It's awesome! Preston loves to swim and wants to go everyday. Preston and Greg went on a backpacking trip to the Uintah Mountains with uncles and cousins and had an awesome time. Preston carried his own backpack that weighed 25 pounds! What a strong boy!
Anaya is my little helper! She loves to help me cook, clean and be with me everywhere I go. I love that she loves to be with me, but sometimes, mommy could use a break! She is so adorable, and for those of you that don't know...she used to have long hair, but on Mother's Day her present to me was cutting her OWN hair. I had to fix it, but the only way to do that was to cut it really short.
Presley, on the other hand, is definitely in her terrible two's! We love her dearly, but boy, does she have a temper! If she doesn't get her way, she is screaming up a storm that I'm sure everyone can hear her! She also wants to be with me 24/7! I love her, boy is she a handful though. She loves to help me clean--inside or outside. And she just can't stop sucking those two fingers! Soooo cute!!!!
Aidan is growing so fast. He is sitting up, eating solids and just the happiest baby! His favorite thing to do is to bounce in his bouncer, which is definitely a life saver! I don't know what I would without it! Thank you, Samantha for the bouncer!

Preston and Paul Milsap

On Feb. 27, Preston got to meet a Jazz player. The Jazz player was Paul Milsap. I t was really cool. We got to sit on the 2nd row in the center. We had a perfect view and could hear everything he said very clearly. The kids got to be involved in activities, and Paul talked about sportsmanship, and how important it is for the kids to stay in school. I loved what he was telling the kids. One of the activities they did with the kids, was giving Paul 3 shots in 3 different places. In each spot, Paul was challenged to make at least 1 of 3 shots in each spot. The kids got to choose one side of the court--one side he makes at least 1, the other side he misses all 3. After each shot the kids got to move to the opposite side they were on if they chose to change their decision. The kids had so much fun. Anaya and Aubree came with Preston and I. They had fun. After Paul left, the kids got an autographed picture of Paul to take home with them. Preston gets to go to the Jazz game tomorrow night with his team. He is very excited about that as well.

Dentists and Doctors

On Tuesday, I took the kids down to Orem. We started the day off by getting up at 3 a.m. so we wouldn't have to drive more than one car down for the day. For those of you that don't know, Greg is still commuting down to Springville from Clearfield to go to work. He meets up with some friends in Orem, and they carpool down to Springville. Anyway, to save on gas, we decided to all go at 3 a.m. We dropped Greg off and then went to my parent's house to get a little more sleep before we had to start the day off at the dentist office. Preston, Anaya and Presley had their 6 month teeth cleaning appointments. Anaya and Presley have NO cavities, woo hoo! They did so well. It was a little rough when they had to have their teeth x-rayed, but they did awesome. Preston's appointment was a little more than we were expecting. They brushed and flossed his teeth and then x-rayed them. We thought it was smooth sailing from there. Oh boy were we wrong. When Dr. Howell came in to check his teeth, we found out that Preston had broken a filling, and it had started to decay. Dr. Howell said that the best option at this point was to have it pulled since the tooth underneath was about to breakthrough anyway. Preston didn't think it was going to be too bad. But he didn't know they were going to have to numb him up using a needle. He did really well for the first couple of pin pricks, but the few after that sent him through the roof. He was fighting to get up, and it definitely was not what Preston wanted to go through. His tooth came out nice and easy. After they pulled the tooth, they decided to do an adult cleaning on him. Preston didn't like the electric brush the dentist uses. I don't blame him. It's not fun at all. Preston started to put up a fight, yelling and screaming, and crying. I felt so bad because I literally had to lay on top of him so the dental assistant could finish the cleaning. When all was said and done, Preston was okay. He did an awesome job for not knowing what to expect.

Later that day, Aidan and I went to the doctor's office for checkups. It was time for Aidan's 2 month checkup, and mine was my 6 week post-partum checkup. Mine was quick and easy which was fantastic. I haven't gained any weight, but I haven't lost any either. Aidan is a growing boy, which he should be. He is now 12 lbs. 4 oz and 23 3/4 inches long. What a big boy! I can't believe how fast time flies and how fast kids grow. I just take the time to appreciate what I have and the relationship between my kids and I and Greg.

Happy Anniversary and Valentine's Day!

Greg and I celebrated our 9th anniversary on Thursday Feb. 12. Wow! The past nine years have been full of ups and downs, but more ups than downs. I love Greg with everything I have and am so grateful that he works so hard for me and the kids. Thursday was really fun. Greg and I went to dinner at Beto's and then to a movie. I loved not having to worry about chasing kids around the theatre. Preston stayed home with Brody, and the girls stayed the night at Dusty and Lacy's. It was a fabulous night! Thank you to Brody and Lacy who watched the kiddies. We love you guys!

Valentine's Day was really fun too. Our friends, Dusty and Lacy and their kids, came up to our house. We have an indoor swimming pool, so we went swimming and hot tubbing. It was fabulous. Then we just played some board games and just had sooo much fun!!!!

Presley, Presley, Presley

So, the other day I had thrown a bag of cheerios into the trash because they were all stale. I was in the middle of feeding Aidan when I realized that Presley had gotten into the trash. She pulled out the bag of cheerios, grabbed her bowl from the table and began to pour cheerios into the bowl. Keep in mind, Presley is 1 1/2 years old, but oh is she independent. She poured the WHOLE darn bag into her bowl. The bowl, however, was not big enough to fit the bag of cheerios but she just kept dumping. Once they were all dumped out, she started to throw them. I was still feeding Aidan, feeling a little frustrated about the mess, but laughing so hard because she was having fun and laughing too. Instead of getting upset, which is my usual reaction, I took some pictures. I love Presley. She is such a character. She makes our home such a happy place to be. We don't know what we would do without her.

I've been tagged...yet again.

I have been tagged by my friend Lacy. I am supposed to write six things that make me happy. Here goes....
1) I am happy when Anaya (our little pistol right now) comes up to me and says "I love you, Mom. Kisses and hugs."
2) I am happy when it's time to feed Aidan. It's our little bonding time.
3) I love it when Greg is home and he makes dinner so I don't have to.
4) I love taking the kids out to the park. It's been great weather lately to do so!
5) I am happy when we take the kids to the swimming pool.
6) I am happy that Greg supports me in going to school.

I tag: Megan and Celeste. Be sure to link it to the person who tagged you.

Family trip to St. George

Apparently, I started writing this, and forgot to finish. So, almost a month ago, we took the kids to St. George to visit my grandparents. The kids had a blast. We went to the park everyday so the kids could ride their scooters and ripstick. It was a nice trip and vacation rolled into one. Other than going to the park we didn't do much. We just hung out with Gramma and Grampa Wilson, Aunt Cora, Lindyn, and Katelyn. It was fun.

Snickers, the puppy!!!

Greg and I decided that the kids were ready for a new pet, not just our fish. They are big, big animal lovers. We were debating on what to get because we live in such a small place. I was adamant about getting a pet that was small. Our cousin Josh has a Daschund named Daisy who gave birth to five little puppies about six weeks ago. We decided that since they weren't big dogs, that this is the perfect opportunity to get a new pet. We have a little black with brown paws puppy. Deciding on the name was our next task at hand. We put all our names in a hat, and drew until we got the same name three times. The name we pulled out was Snickers. It fits our puppy so well.

Snickers is the love of our kids' life. They are constantly taking care of him. They make sure he has food, water and goes outside to go to the bathroom. He sleeps pretty well at night and he LOVES to sleep with Greg. The other night, however, we were at our friends-Dusty and Lacy-and Snickers fell asleep on Aidan in the bouncer seat. It was so precious that I had to take a picture. Aidan didn't quite know what to think or do, but it was too cute.

Almost sleeping through the night!!!!

So, my darling lil Aidan is finally on a decent sleep schedule. He only wakes up once in the middle of the night. Can you believe it? He is only a month old!!! I'm so excited that I can actually get some good sleep. Aidan is getting so big. He will wear a 0-3 month outfit, it will get washed and then it won't fit him anymore. I believe he has been my fastest grower out of all the kids.
Look how big he is!!!! Crazy, crazy!!!

Well Child Checkups

Yesterday, I took Presley and Aidan in for their well child checkups. Presley is 22 months old and is actually growing. She is now officially over 20 lbs. She weighs in at 22.6 lbs and is 2 ft 8.5 in. tall. Can you believe it? She is still our munchkin and will definitely be the smallest of our bunch, but her temper definitely makes up for it. Aidan is 1 month old and he has gained almost 2 lbs since he was born. He weighs in at 9 lbs 12 oz and is 23 inches long. He is growing so fast.

New addition to our family!!!

On December 14, 2008 we welcomed our baby boy and brother, Aidan Scott. It was a very interesting day to say the least. I had gone into the hospital around 6:30 a.m. and was there until 9:30 a.m. Unfortunately, I was having irregular contractions and still only dilated to 1 cm. So they sent me home. I was home for about 45 minutes when I started having contractions about every 2 minutes. My mom said that we should go back to the hospital, but I told her I didn't want to get sent home again. So, I screamed through the contractions, until Greg got home. He timed one of my contractions and it was 1 minute and 10 seconds long!!!! He said let's get you to the hospital. We go to leave and can't find the car key to my Mazda and I absolutely refused to ride in our Kia, so by this time I am in dying pain, and my dad runs in and gets his keys to his car and puts me in and then rushes me to the hospital running a red light and all. Just so I wouldn't give birth in the car, at home or even in the parking lot (which was VERY close to happening). We get to the hospital, my water breaks as I get out of the car, I collapse to the ground and don't think I can move. Some ladies saw what happened. One went to get a nurse with a wheelchair and the other helped my dad get me to the wheelchair. We get up to labor and delivery and they are like you were just here. And I said yep! They take me to the room where I'm supposedly going to have a C-section and I have a nurse trying to put an IV in my arm, a couple of nurses getting the baby bed ready, and another getting me registered. Then one nurse, her name is Jeanne, she goes to check how far dilated I am, and she says "There's the head, go ahead and push whenever you are ready, Ali." This whole time my dear sweet husband is waiting to be let through the doors to the labor and delivery phone. He couldn't get in because all the nurses were in my room. My dear husband missed the birth of our son by just a few seconds, but was there to give the nurses the name of our beautiful baby boy. It was a rough and long day, but totally worth not having all the pain meds and epidural. The kids came to visit me and their new baby brother at the hospital later that day. They were so excited to see their brother they could hardly stand it. While the kids were visiting, Presley and Anaya found that it was fun to play in the bathroom. Presley figured out how to flush the toilet and then she would laugh and flush it again. It was pretty funny to watch.
